Catherine and Hope - Reprise

Current thought: I like to clip my nails, and I also like that my nails grow quickly so I can clip them more often.

Some other things that relax me:
- Clipping nails
- Painting nails
- Knitting
- Cooking
- Cleaning
- Sleeping (well duh)

My most recent nail adventure: Cosmic Nails!
The galaxy was at my fingertips.

This past weekend Hope came over to play! We got to run around in Boston and in fountains, explore the Freedom Trail, eat lots of food and see a good show. The week before, Catherine and Jean also came to visit - we ate lots of food, went to a concert, and took super quick driving tours of Boston. Oh, and lots of pillow talk for both. I just learned this term. IT WAS SO MUCH FUN!!!! *insertincoherentyelling* Both times after they left, I felt really really sad though I shouldn't be surprised - it's always sad when good friends leave, especially after they live with you for a few days.

I love having people I love come to visit, and I love when people I love meet each other. The first time my worlds collided, my mind was blown and I couldn't handle it. But the more it happens, the more I love it. PLEASE HAPPEN MORE.

All said and done, I'm still recovering physically from the last two weeks. I look forward to finally sleeping and getting to breathe again. Maybe after Thursday. I intend to not get sick, but knowing my immune history, perchance not. But it's ok! I'm fine, Mom. :)

And no, I don't like clipping other people's nails. Unless it's a baby's nails, in which case I would like to do that but I'm also scared I'll hurt the poor child and thus I don't really clip anything or wait until they're asleep.

Verse of the Day

Jeremiah 29:11 Link
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Other thoughts -

I dreamed last night that I was a white man, and father of two little boys. One of them had some eye poop that was bothering him, and I didn't know how to help him get it off. Then while struggling to help him, I realized that I also didn't know how to get rid of my own eye poop. We both felt very lost and confused. But my little boy was so cute! *squeeee* I still remember his face pretty distinctly. I have no idea who the mother was though, and my other little boy was a baby. Why am I dreaming about these things??

Almost there

It's almost December, applications are coming along and deadlines are coming up - final papers, projects, proposals starting to take shape. I am starting to develop more potbelly. Less games playing, more random stress-outages, and I think more general levels of happy times - yes, youth are so volatile (I'm still a youth-ish right?)

On a different note, I've been distracted by my cursor!!! Instead of seeing the typical hourglass+pointer cursor like so:

... I see this little guy:

SO CUTE!

And I get distracted.

Rambleramblemrablmebarmlbe

This year's summer dresses all seem to have tiebacks. Darn it, should have launched my own line before everyone else jumped on the boat. I want to go swing dancing!!! Round up the possums.

My sleeping schedule is so strange. It seems to have turned inside out, but only sometimes.

ITS SO BEAUTIFUL THESE DAYS

I have found that it is physically impossible for me to stay up longer than X hours without at least X/3 hours of sleep the night before. Power naps/unpower naps help a lot, but they only provide 1/3 of the waking energy time for each hour of nap I get. That's probably not a definitive function, but I'd say it's pretty close as of these two months.

Aspirations for One Day: make the dresses that I see and like BY HAND (and sewing machine), put together the other sewing crafty things that I've designed, bring my imagined paintings to life, cook delicious and beautiful food, including traditional chinese foods and crazy cakes and bento boxes. I've actually got a few bento boxes behind my belt already (literally), the latest of which is:

My bento, linked from Soy's blog! Click to for her post.

This is a bit late now, but a few weeks back Anna came and led a bento box workshop with us - she's the one who made the Walle bento that some of y'all might have seen ~ either way though, look at her gallery and blog! :) It's quite amazing. Click here to go to her post about the workshop. Go find mine! Haha

I've actually made a few bento boxes in the past, but they're nothing like these of course hahah

I'm really excited for Iowa. Good night soon.! .?

For future records

I had a dream that I was a yellow-orange origami pterodactyl. I had an olive-green origami pterodactyl friend, and we were seeking the friendship of a red origami pterodactyl, because he/she was much wiser in the ways of origami pterodactyl-ing, and we were leik teh n00bs LOLZ. However, I was soon crushed by a falling boulder the size of a mountain as I fled from a t-rex, and subsequently morphed into a triceratops. Does anybody remember the dinosaurs tv show? Freaky thing... Yea so I lived with a triceratops equivalent of that family underground, in something like a hobbit hole (complete with many rooms and furniture and a fireplace), and I kept fearing for the safety of the baby, because I thought the velociraptors were going to come and attack. And sometime midway through the dream, I realized I didn't know how to use my dinosaur legs, b/c I kept tripping and falling over myself. :/

Plagiarism

Well, maybe not completely... but yes :(

that was my idea :( kind of ish

I feel betrayed. Although, ok, mine was different.. but I suppose that all in all, the need for handless umbrellas has indeed been met. Otherwise called a raincoat or poncho. So I will rest in peace.

Camping trip 2 this weekend! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY

String Cheese

What makes string cheese good? Or, what makes one variety of string cheese better than another? True, that's all relative... but it's relative because (mostly because) people have different definitions of what makes that string cheese good, and then also because people have different perceptions of just how a given string cheese fits even same criteria of goodness.

So then, back to question one. What makes string cheese good string cheese? Well, I'm going to say that string cheese is good when it is both stringy and cheesey. What makes it stringy? Let's look at some pictoral examples...

This is a string.

So are these.

This is a string. Or maybe it's multiple strings.

Whatever this is.. it's pretty stringy.

And um.. I don't know what this is, but possessed kitty comes up when you google-image "stringy string"

Now...

This is cheese.

As is this..

This..

All these:

And this as well.

(I believe have one of these. Oh the advantages of being Wisconsin's neighbor...)

That little girl looks awfully like whats-her-name from Spiderman.

Ok, so what's stringy cheese?

Oooooo

Ahhhhh

Mmmmm....

And there are so many different kinds!!!

and even cheddar/mozzarella kinds!

Mmm.....

All my thoughts have disappeared. Partially b/c of the time, and partially b/c I'm now hungry. Hahaha ---- I just want some string cheese D:

I had one just now. Mmmm delicious. Why did I brush my teeth already? Oh deer.

Sunny Tuesday

I've been posting a lot. Hahaha
Today is Happy St. Patrick's Day! Doodle designed by Doodle 4 Google Ireland winner Evan O'Sullivan Glynn St. Patrick's Day! I totally forgot. I would have worn my gear - green/clovery shirt+socks+whatnot :( But now I'm just wearing grey and black D: Bummer... One time back in kindergarten, I busted out the greens on the 16th to school. Oops. Clearly I don't know my holidays.

We have St. Patrick's Day brownies at the office today :) Also, God provides! He provided an awesome ride to work via coworker-who-came-back-from-dunkin-donuts-along-moody-st-just-as-i-was-walking-to-the-office-from-the-commuter-rail.

I also had a wonderful talk with my daddyo on the way to the rail :) Love my family... but most of all, God is awesome. Regardless of the situation at hand (or foot).

The scrolly thing on this mouse is broken :( It doesn't go down... only up. It's kind of saddening to not be able to hear the little 'clikclikclik' that it's supposed to make as I scroll down a page... Wah!

Mice have high accuracy and high speed - very nice user interface. Look how far we've come!

A brief history:

The first mouse... GHETTO! But it worked.

Rolly ball mice. And the joys of cleaning them. One time I put lotion on the inside of the mouse... and it didn't squeak for weeks! :)

And Walle. He's not a mouse, but his movie showcased mice. And he's awesome.

End break.

My feet smell. Sad face.

One thing I remember - Yao's feet never smell! At least not yet. I was utterly shocked. Maybe she's that girl who doesn't ever fart, burp, poop, or insert-any-unsightly/smelly-bodily-function. So they DO exist...

An introduction to my thoughts right now - I'm going backwards in a stream, against an ever-flowing current, which doesn't pause for breathing breaks or let down for the weak to progress even a tiny bit. Sooner or later, this stream will lead to the river, where any hesitation on my part will bring me back so much more - good thing I'm not the one swimming. On my own at least...

What brings comfort? Sometimes a hot bowl of soup is comfort, or a cool breeze, warm sunshine - maybe it's white rice with peas and eggs and shrimp on a cold night, or the smell of Malaysian soy sauce, or fuzzy slippers and smiles of good friends.

Ultimately we can't depend on these for comfort - even on the warmest, more sincere, most loving of friends and family... True, they may bring deep comfort, but ultimately, that is all drawn from the source of comfort that is God. Holy Spirit, Comforter...

Let your strength be from Him and Him only... your security be founded on Him and Him only. Your love be first and foremost to Him, your passions and desires all for His loves too... Ahhh Lord knows how hard it is. Literally. But He's there through it all.

Break

王力宏 has such good English... I forget that and everytime I hear him sing in English I am a little shocked. 潘玮柏 also has really good English. Why is my English so not good? Dang...

My nails are painted!

It is a beautiful day. Not only b/c it's sunny and warm (it's nearing 60! duude...) but b/c this is the day that the Lord has made. Approach it with gladness... b/c God is good!!!! It's 3:25.

Granny Clothes

I think I need a lint roller.

I had this grande (whoa I just typed an "e" at the end on accident. But I'll keep it there, b/c that's reflective of the way I normally write anyway.. I always write an extra e :/ boo) idea for a post, but I've since forgotten it. Just like I forgot my dream that I wanted to write down. That was a pretty cool dream.

I love hearing the people here banter back and forth... :D The interactions here are so interesting. I wonder if they're like that in other offices... Sometimes it's deathly silent (except for typing and clicking sounds) but most of the time there's a meeting going on, there's somebody talking to a client or two over phone or conference call, there are jokes and random things, pens being thrown around at each other (sometimes larger objects too), very occasionally a birthday party (haha), sometimes with the wii. Sometimes I can't imagine not working here. But of course I can too... Mmm

I have about 25 minutes left. What shall I do... I could eat my other pbj.

My supervisor just got a huge box of flowers and chocolate from her boyfriend. SO CUTE :D

Washing Hands.

I used to have a bad habit of biting my nails, and also my cuticles :( Bad bad bad... Sometimes though, my hands would be dirty, and when I tried to bite them (that sounds weird) I would encounter a bitter taste. And thus, from those experiences on, I learned not to bite my nails. But anyway, sometimes this still happens, but not from nail biting. Rather, my current bad habit is touching my face, particularly in the chinish area, and I don't even realize most of the time. Mer. But sometimes, my hands would still be dirty and when I eat or even lick my lips unintentionally, I'd get that bitter taste again. Maybe, I will learn from this as well to not touch my face/chin area. This is such a random confession.

Well, now comes to a close a very fun-filled and sleep-not-filled weekend... There were adventures through Wellesley, non-Wellesley, and then the backyards of Wellesley again, and here I am sitting in the Science Library, looking up call numbers for reserves and preparing myself for some fun-filled hours of reading... hahhh -- but looking back, I really did enjoy this past week! Even through all the tensions and stresses, the insecurities and emotional swings, there were so many little glimmers and then radiant outbursts of beauty and joy that I know could only have come from God. Each time I go through a emotional roller coaster, I look back and forward in awe. I'm amazed at how often and how wonderfully God brings me through them all, humbled at His grace toward me, and so so excited (or pregnant) to see what He has in store. Admittantly, there are a lot of things I'm afraid of too, but perfect love drives out all fear, and what love is more perfect that Love Himself?

Sigh... of contentment maybe. No, more than contentment. What's the word for it? I duno. But I need to wash my hands =___=

Pet Peeve

- something that is insignificant, is experienced by all, and only annoys the stuffings out of certain people.

Why in the world are they called pet peeves? I thought pets were something you liked. Hi everybody, this is my pet peeve - my peeve that is my pet? My pet that is a peeve? My peevish pet. Or maybe it's pettish peeve. Bah, whatever. I'm feeling peevish right now. And this is my venting post. Sorry :/

- Hair on clothing. And furniture. And the ground. And walls. And bathrooms. HAAAAIRRRRRR!!!! Everybody should be bald. There are plenty of other ways to keep your head warm, and PETA will probably come after me now.
- Lead that isn't quite held firmly by the little lead holders in mechanical pencils, so that when you write they make this little swishy sound and twist around in its socket. Usually because it's not long enough to be held by the holder thing. AAHHHHH!
- Lead that breaks every time you touch it ever so gently to the paper.
- Lead that comes out waaay too much on a single click. Bad design, bad design!!!!
- Pens that write in clumps. Yea, what? Why are you writing in clumps?
- Misspellings. Especially of "you're", "your", "they're", "there", "their", etc...
- Songs like this and this. Dude, leave him and his girlfriend alone! Get your own boyfriend if you're so desperate you sorry child. I really don't understand why these songs are so popular... Taylor goes swiftly from tears on her guitar to lemme snatch you away from her. *shakes head
- Bandwagoners. Kind of like current fans of Snuggie and Twilight (Why is there a soundtrack for this movie? It had the worst movie music I've ever heaaard AHHH). Actually Twilight should be in a bullet point itself.
- Brain farts. Like this post.

Also, an interesting point to note:

Hmm... fishy.

And in honor of cool and not so cool hats:

And last but not least,
